Light early period, spotting...but pfn???

Hey ladies, so I had my last period 3 days early, it was so light (which was odd) no clots, and was only 4 days. I got a bit excited and though it may have been implantation so I took 2 tests and bfn

Alright whatever, it's only month 4 of us trying so I don't want to get discouraged. Well we are now during my ovulation time and I start bleeding again starting brown then bright red and then brown with like really small clot looking pieces. so I take another 2 tests and still negative. I'm using internet cheapies are they reliable?

Has anyone else had something like this happen?

p.s. yes I'm going to go to the doctor this upcoming week but its Sunday and I'm anxious to know what's happening.
