Do you think normality is real or just an illusion created by society?

And is it actually achievable?

Eh, there’s normality within a given cultural context, which is mostly achievable, although we all have our quirks. 
There’s very few things I would consider normal amongst all humanity. I do think the larger taboos that are near cultural universals are avoidable though. Things like murder, rape, incest etc.

Cultures define what ‘normal’ is, so in a sense it’s not a thing. On the other hand, statistical normality exists.

Normal is what is good for society and what brings the best out of it. 
There are ALOT of things that are NOT normal. I mean its not just an illusion for me.

Illusion;achievable.
Normality is an illusion. We show restraint because society conditions us to believe that we need to be good people, not go to jail, raise a family, etc. It is achievable to be society’s definition of “normal”. In reality, we have the power to do what we want at any time. Showing restraint is simply up to the being to engage in. I could kill at any time I wanted to simply because I wanted to, but society has taught me that in order to be “normal”, I need to be a law abiding citizen and be kind to others. Normality is conditioned, I truly believe.

Normal is very subjective, therefore I would call it an illusion. Reality is that there is no such thing as normal. Everyone is normal to their own degree of normalcy. If you go by society standards, it’s attainable, but why would you ever want to fit into that box? The same box that millions of other people are just dying to fit into. No thanks. I get that people want to be socially accepted, but there comes a time in your life when you really have to stop and think... do I want these things because society told me I should want them, or do I want something totally different?

I meant illusion and not achievable as it’s always changing and everyone has a different opinion. U may have “achieved” it in one persons eyes, but not another.
