Is it wrong for a Christian to go to a Catholic dance?

Today, I went with my boyfriend to a catholic dance and I just watched from a distance. I didn’t go and eat the food, I didn’t participate in any way, all I did was watch from a distance. And when I came home, my mom was crying and she says it’s a sin and a betrayal to God. But I don’t know. And when I went into my room, I asked God for forgiveness just in case if I did something wrong. So was it wrong for me to go?

Catholics are Christians! Lol. They have very similar beliefs and the most important thing is that they believe that Jesus came and died for us so that we can have eternal life. There are mostly differences in the rituals and of course the good works get you to heaven. But they use the same bible as Protestant Christians

As a Christian, I see plenty wrong with Catholic thinking lol. But unless you actively did anything against the Bible I don't think you done anything wrong. There's a difference between mingling with people you disagree with, and adhering to their beliefs 😊
