how common is it for you to have another premature birth if youve had one prior? I had my first child late, my second child was a week early, and my third was born exactly at 36 weeks weighing 5 pounds. I am now pregnant with my fourth child so I was curious if there is a chance  my fourth will be early too.

I asked my doctor this. I gave birth at 34 weeks for unknown reason. She said it’s almost a 💯 chance I’ll have another preemie, and 75% chance baby would come around the same time or early. I’ll have to see a high risk dr along with her. I’ve never seen a study though to back this... this is what she told me.

I had my first at 35+4 my second at 36+5 and my third at 33+4. My ob said will never be able to carry a baby full term. Might i add i was on the makenna injections for my second and third.

my doctor said its common.  they usually say the next one will come even earlier than the first one. my doc is having me take progesterone  once i hit 16 weeks until i reach 36 weeks to prevent another premature birth. i also deliver very quickly with all three of my kids. this last one the baby didnt even wait for the doctor  before she came out lol. the doc is scaed ill deliver on the highway on my way to the hospital.

I've had a cerclage with both pregnancies and had my first removed at 36 weeks exactly and he was born the same day. With my second I asked to have my cerclage left in until 37 weeks but my water broke spontaneously at 36w2d. Not sure if it was affected by my first but it sure seems like it.

I have the same question. Delivered spontaneously at 36 weeks with my first (he weighed 5lbs). And now I’m 26 weeks along with #2. My main DR says ohhhh no problem you’ll be fine but a second DR told me to be prepared again...

Can't really add anything sorry but am also curious. I recently had my first baby at 7 weeks early (for an unknown reason) and my midwives and doctors told me that I could expect to go early again if I ever had another child. I'm not sure I believe them though as my older sister came a month early and I was born late 🤷🏻‍♀️
