When is it appropriate to post spoilers?

Since The Last Jedi came out, I was wondering when it’s ok to post spoilers for movies on social media in general?
I know the Facebook group Star Wars Sithposting will have non-spoiler TLJ content, then spoilers will be allowed to be posted I think at the end of January.
Is a month after a movie is released a good time frame? Should it be shorter or longer?

A group I was in had a strict 6 month no spoilers rule. Personally I don't give a fuck when spoilers are posted because I don't care. If I want to see it I will. Said spoilers have no impact on that at all.

I mean.. what does it matter, if u were a true star wars fan u would have seen the movie quite a few times by now it’s been out damn near a week.
I say after that first week, spoilers are fine. BUT I couldn’t care less. If the commercials were dumb I’m not gonna watch the movie. 
Further more I’m not trying to pay the $27.50 it cost for a ticket. So I’ll eat the spoilers up all day lol

I don't mind spoilers whenever I watch movies or tv shows I wiki what happens throughout it so I'm not upset when a favorite character of mine dies, it's better so I have time to prepare and cope with my feelings of hatred

A month is a little long, but where I am the theater has literally been sold out all week for star wars. 
(I'm only counting night showings 5-10pm so unless people wanted to take off of their 9-5 during the day or not get to bed until midnight/1, the theater was sold out)

I'd say a week but with an alert. I like to read the synopsis of any movie before I watch it, I don't know why I've always done it and get frustrated if I can't find one lol

It depends. I didn’t particularly care all that much about the spoilers for this particular Star Wars movie because it’s not the last episode & I had tickets to it opening night so I was seeing it either way. The special premiere was held days before it hit theaters & they were spoiling the hell out of it on Twitter. Now for Episode 9 I’m staying off all fan theory sites & away from all Star Wars pages the week it gets released until I see it opening night.

At 10+ bucks per person per time, we only see movies in theatres once and only after it’s been out for a few weeks for the super fans to have their fun. My husband and I finally saw Thor and we were practically the only ones in the theatre. The last SW movie to come out we didn’t see it until almost February. I work 7 days a week and only have certain times to see movies. It has to be something we must see in theatres to justify the cost. I don’t give a flying duck about spoilers. They’re going to happen in this digital age.
