Is it time to go to the hospital?!

I’m a high risk pregnancy and I am 29+6 today. 2 and a half weeks ago I was told i was 1 cm dilated but they didn’t make any changes. I’ve been having frequent painful contractions that get worse especially at night. But they are not regular enough to time. They’re painful but not where I can’t speak through them. It gets very difficult to breathe though. I’m scared to go to the hospital and be told that there’s nothing they can do.. should I go anyways?! Its been worsening the past two days.
