how old is too old?

when you get into the dating stage as a teen (14/15) sometimes you find someone your age attractive and Sometimes you find someone 17 or 18 attractive. so how old is too old? There always has been that saying going into highschool, "that senior doesn't really love you" Is it always true? Or can you find love within a 3 year age Gap? Do you have any advice on dating? Perhaps high school love stories of your own? I'd like all the advice & understanding I can get 😊

there's like a rule of thumb where if you half the other person's age and add 7, and the result is under your age, y'all shouldn't date 
for example person a is 16. half is 8 and + 7 is 15 so anyone under 15 imo shouldn't be dating person a

To me if you are 14-15 you shouldn't date adults and people who are going to be adult soon. So to me if you are 14-15, 17-18+ is too old. It goes without saying that 17/18+ shouldn't be dating 15 years old (or less). But as soon as you are an adult, I think that age gap isn't important (excepted if you date a minor, which not acceptable.)
