Castor oil?

I am starting to developed high blood pressure and cramping is annoying now... I am 37 1/2 weeks and was thinking about trying castor oil to help induce labor.. Please no rude comments im looking for stories from personal experience whether they are good or bad doesn't matter I want to hear both sides before I decide to try or not try

I was always told no because it can cause the baby to have meconium. I'm to scared to try it.

I did it with two pregnancies and had no problems you have to be at least 38 weeks

I heard it's an awful way to try and induce. Basically, your body tries to rid itself of everything! So expect lots of vomiting and diarrhea as well as labour. Besides being terribly uncomfortable I heard it's not really healthy. I would try nearly anything besides castor oil, myself. That being said, apparently it works.

Don't do it! I did and it worked but I wish it hadn't because I have severe diarrhea and then ran a fever of 104 after delivery and had to wait 24 hours to see my baby.

I used it almost 9 years ago with my son 2 tbs with orange juice and then I walked a lot I didn't ever have to go to the bathroom which was strange but it worked about 2 1/2 hours later I was in labor. I will try it again if she's late or if they are going to induce me. I don't really know the recommended amount to take but I was told to not take more than 4tbs.

I asked my doctor and she let me know that it should only be used as a last resort, it can be dangerous as it can send you into a very quick labor but other stories online are all different, some women swear by it others don't...I am too scared to try it but it is your preference, let me know if you try it and how it works :)
