Oh brother

I am the oldest of 7 and currently expecting my first child. My childhood was difficult and am still working to recover, but ultimately I’ve managed to use it to my advantage and grow from it. My brother that comes next in line still struggles daily. He’s angry, up and down, abusing drugs and alcohol, and occasionally gets beat up by others due to his overall lack of self control ☹️ I’ve been protecting him for so long that I’m starting to realize how scary it will be to raise a child. He’s a young adult now but it’s hard to watch him make the same mistakes time and time again. Will I be able to protect my child? Will it have issues engrained in it that are beyond repair 😭
