I just saw a video about a woman that wanted a baby. She realised that she wasn’t honest to the guys she was dating, because she wanted a baby not a partner. She decided to look for a donor (sperm bank) and got pregnant. She is now a happy mom, with all her ducks in a row with a healthy and happy toddler. No partner, but her family helps where ever is needed.

Now personally I find this beautiful for many reasons, but in the video they talked about a negative stigma. The reactions I read afterwards amazed me. They were so awful. So now I’m wondering what do you think about this topic?

This is not about the single motherhood, but about the well thought and deliberate decision to have a child through an unknown donor.

Do you think it’s a good thing woman have that choice? Is it selfish or not? Do you think it could have in any way or form a negative influence on the child or its future? Or could it have an empowering influence on the child? Would you do it? Do you support women choosing this?
