Advice for almost 11-year-old
Asking for friend that doesn't have app..
My daughter is almost 11, is awful when it comes to responsibility (I ask her to do
ONE chore, twice a day, but she can never seem to remember to do it and I don't think I should have to remind her every single day. Can't remember to get papers out of her school folder for me but my littles can), constantly feels the need to argue, takes joking around too far (to the point where we get mad then she starts crying) and likes to play the blame game. Also likes to play victim, even when things are clearly her fault. Her counselor thinks she has a touch of ADHD and said to just get a low dose of medication prescribed, have her dr approve it but I can't get her an appt for another couple months. Does anyone have any advice on what we can do until then to help?
At her dads, her stepmom said she knows the rules when it comes to electronics and for awhile, she was great then, out of nowhere, she just acts like she "forgets" rules.
It's also like there's no in between of how to talk to her. Either we're nice and she takes advantage of it and takes forever to do anything that's asked, or we get "mean" and get onto her to get stuff done and let her know we're serious then she starts crying and makes it seem like we're picking on her None of this would happen if she'd just listen.
