Babies sick

Anyone's little ones get sick yet? I'm so paranoid I take his temp like 10 times a day. Then I got a report on my phone this morning that flu activity is unusually high and I sent myself into a panic. My son is six weeks old and we never take him out of the house uncovered (he has a milk snob that goes over his stroller) we try to avoid public places but we always seems to have errands to run. Then of course my husband came home with a cold over Christmas and now I'm freaking out. Has anyone's little ones gotten sick yet and is it as scary as it seems?
