how did look like when you miscarried?

so I got told I am miscarrying because of my levels. when I bleed I never had any clots I would have been 5 weeks I looked up online what it looks like does this mean the baby never passed? I'm very confused

At five weeks pregnant the fetus is only 3 weeks old and very tiny so you might not have seen it. It’s like an apple seed at that stage and doesn’t really look human. 
But if you’re unsure, definitely talk to your doc

Is it because of your actual number or because your levels weren't doubling every 48 hours? The actual number doesn't really matter, it's whether or not they double that matters. There wouldn't be much, if anything, to see on an ultrasound at this stage of pregnancy even if it is a viable pregnancy.  If you were told you were going to miscarry because your numbers are not rising like they should, I'm sorry! Unfortunately at the stage you're at, it's most likely a waiting game to see what happens.
