Nexplanon and period

I got my Nexplanon inserted 3 weeks ago and bleed for 1 1/2 weeks after insertion. The spotting finally stopped Tuesday 🙌🏾but eve says that my period was due Friday but I still haven’t had it come yet. I’ve heard from a lot of people that after they get Nexplanon they spotted for a couple of weeks but then the bleeding stops but when their period comes a couple of days later the bleeding never stops. Has anyone had this happen to them? I know that I’m expected to spot for 2-3 months and my period could end up stopping but I can’t bare the thought of bleeding for that long.
