Amoxicillin for ear infection in 9 month old. Please read description.

My 9 month old developed a mild ear infection. Really no symptoms. The doctor found it at a routine check-up. She told me we could do the antibiotic or wait it out. I chose to wait it out. We followed up two weeks later and it was cleared up. Now only one week after that appt he has another ear infection in the same ear. Again no symptoms. Doctor discovered it during check up for pink eye. She again told me we could give the amoxicillin a try or once again wait it out like I chose last time. I hate the idea of giving him the antibiotics this young. He has no fever. Just wondering what other moms would do?
