Not diabetic. Taking Metformin. Success?

Question

I heard one doctor say it’s successful and one doctor say it’s not successful if you don’t have diabetes.  
Can you let me know if Metformin regulates your periods or not if you did not have diabetes?

it made mine shorter, I wouldn't say it regulated them because they started being regular in February of last year and I started metformin in March. I don't have any issues with diabetes and I got pregnant in June

I’ve been taking it since October 2016. Not only did I have a monthly period. I got pregnant nov 2017. However my period was not on a consistent schedule I did have one every month. I’d say it was successful.

It helped regulate my sugar and I lost about 15 lbs. I didn’t get a period on it, but did get pregnant.

It helps insulin resistance, and therefore often helps with some weight loss, that again helps you ovulate.
