Was due January 20th and was induced December 29th due to preeclampsia and had my rainbow baby boy💙

Paige

Here is my birth story🤗💙👶🏻🌈

My due date was January 20th but due to swelling I went to L&D; on December 26th where they ran test and come to find out I had high levels of protein in my urine so I had early signs of preeclampsia. They called my OB doctor and he suggested I'd be induced December 29th that morning. I was only 36 weeks and 6 days when I was induced, they started me out on 6mL of pitocin upping it every 30 minutes by 6mL. At around 4pm I was checked and already dilated to a 4 I went in and was already dilated to a 2. They went ahead and broke my water at a 4 and contractions started getting intense after that! I was so against getting an epidural due to me passing out over needles. I ended up giving in I was dilated to a loose 7 almost an 8 when I got the epidural and let me just say BEST THING EVER!!! I didn't even feel the needle but instant relief the I.V. I got with 3 blown veins was way worse. About an hour later it was baby time I was at a loose 9cm and pushed for 20 minutes and my rainbow baby boy entered this world at 8:55 weighing 6lbs and 10oz and 19inches long. I got to do skin to skin for about a minute and they took him due to fluid being in his lungs and him not being able to breath that well. It just took him a little longer to transition. We were in the hospital a total of 3 days and got to leave on New Years Day. I couldn't ask for a better fiancé or father for my child he was there through it all. We had a MC last August so we are so excited to welcome our precious rainbow baby boy Anthony Drake💙👶🏻
