So I'm having my second baby and my mother in law days I should have one for this baby too and she wants to throw it for me. I've been told several opinions but still not sure if I should. Btw the first baby was a boy.

I thought it could have been a bit much but every baby is a celebration! I also have near to nothing from my sons first year (gave it to my sister) I already found out I’m having a girl and now I will for sure need one lol

My children will be 10 years apart. Not by choice but my family due to the age gap and me literally having nothing for this baby and my history of miscarriages are going to throw me one.

Tradition is that its just for the first.
Not everyone follows tradition though.
I personally wouldn’t and nobody in my family or friend circle would or has, but that’s just one opinion.

This is my second and my two will be 2 years apart. We are having one  for this one but at our house. I see nothing wrong with it plus it helps with things you need for new baby. It's your baby do whatever you want :) others will always have there opinions. (My first had a baby shower)

How far apart? My first was 8 years ago with a different guy. I’m now married, have a lot of new friends, and have nothing. We’re planning on 3rd pretty close to the 2nd as well. So we’re asking for more gender neutral items for big stuff because we will not have another shower after this one.

If someone wants to throw you a party let them! I don’t see anything wrong with celebrating a second (or 3rd, 4th etc.). Maybe just put little things things and clothes on the registry so people don’t feel like they have to get you the big stuff all over again.

I say only for the first. No one I know has had two, regardless of whether they had different gender children. To each his own...
