He Likes My Best Friend

So I recently reconnected with an old friend from high school and I thought we had good chemistry. I haven't had much luck lately concerning romance, so I was really excited to have met him. He knows I'm interested, but I was under the impression he wanted to take things slow. Well, today I found out he's into my best friend. I'm feeling very disheartened because I thought him and I had a chance together, but I guess not. I've had such bad luck in romance lately. This is disappointing.
