I chose adoption. There's enough kids already. But if I was in the position of having to choose in real life, I wouldn't have any child. Adopted or not.

My parents adopted me because they were told my mom could not/would not conceive. I am eternally grateful to have been raised by my parents and love the idea of adoption. My mom did conceive, when I was 3 1/2 years old...best of both worlds! I love my little sister to the moon and back! Now I've been married for nearly 3 years and we are TTC...I (like most women I believe) am very excited about becoming pregnant and having a child that is of our genetic makeup, however, if we experience difficulty TTC, adopting may come into play.

I agree with the previous comment that there are so many children in the system that are in need of a loving home...it just seems like the money that would be spent on fertility treatments could make a huge difference to a child who is already here. Just my thoughts!

Adoption if the adoption was absolutely, indisputably final. I've seen and read a lot of stories, especially of children of Native American decent, who had to be give back to birth families due to legal reasons even after the papers are signed. The birth family can petition for custody and be granted even if the child had been with the adoptive family for years. It's really heartbreaking. If that could possibly be the case, I'd choose ivf.

I find this a really hard decision as my dad was adopted and i've seen how it has effected him. I guess if i couldn't have kids i wouldn't at all.

It would depend. If I already had a few kids, I would adopt.  If I only had 1 or 2, I would try IVF first.  I'd like to adopt  anyways though :)

I chose ivf because I really want to experience pregnancy and labor and breastfeeding at least once but my husband and I plan on adopting and having children so I can't make a black and white decision about this,
