Membrane Stripping and speeding up labor...

My last appoint on the 3rd my Dr told me I am 3 1/2cm dilated and 50% effaced. She said she gives me by next week to have my baby (I’m currently 38 weeks 1 day) now I’ve been in a massive amount of pain up until the last 3 Days I almost don’t feel pregnant. By that I mean I have not had any kind of pains I’ve been or experiencing anything other then pain in my rectum only when I go to the bathroom. The baby actually doesn’t move as much. Like she’s officially out of room.

Anyways she said if I somehow don’t have her by my next appointment which is the 11th they are stripping my membrane. I’m curious of how did worked for some of you ladies.

Is it painful??

How soon did thing start working got you?

Is there anything I should be aware of???
