period cups?

i really want to get a period cup, but im scared to and mom is really speculating about it, any suggestions?

Don’t be scared! You might want a softer one to start out with, do your research on how to clean it properly. I still wear a panty liner with mine to be extra safe. If you have any questions just ask!

I started using a cup when I was about your age I’m 22 now and I’ve never gone back to pads/tampons ^_^ never had any issues with it plus it saves money! Right now I use the Ruby cup which I like more than the first I tried  (which was the diva cup) because it is a little shorter.
Too find one that will fit you best you first have to figure out where your cervix sits on your period. Mine sits a bit lower which is why I like shorter cups. On your period (as the cervix can move up or down at different points of your cycle) stick your finger in your vagina and feel for your cervix (it feels like a round nub). Then measure how much of your finger went in to reach it.
Use this length to compare cups the cup will sit right below your cervix. (most should have the length and diameter of the cup) if the cup is longer than the measure you took the end may stick out a little (this is why I don’t like the diva cup) stems can be cut after so don’t worry if the stem is too long. 
Also try the cup before cutting the stem off. I cut the stem completely off of mine but some people need it to take the cup out.
