Boy help

I have this guy friend I've known my whole life and our dads have been best friends since they were born. I have always seen him as a brother but I would get jealous when he had a girlfriend. A few weeks ago he drove down to visit me. He told me he had feelings for me and wanted me to cut all ties with my ex. He was saying how he wanted to take me on dates I was so happy. After those few days he hasn't texted me at all it's been weeks:( it's bugging me I'm not sure what to do.
