Keep working?

Question

My boss didnt put me on the schedule anymore after last week. She said I could go in and make my own hours so I dont have to use that much of my fmla before baby is born. Only drawback is that I commute to where I work 1 hr, and Im 39weeks3days and exhausted these days. Wondering whether I should take advantage of the time off or keep working until hes here (I cant afford to take off 12 weeks, so Ill most likely be doing 6-7 I think...  what would you do?

I would suggest just taking it off. You need some time to yourself before baby is born. 💗

I’m only off now a week before our due date since I have a moderately to heavily physical job. I was getting to the point I needed multiple breaks to sit down and rest. I worked a 16 hour shift two days before Thanksgiving to get my shop ready, and I worked 50-60 weeks all thru December. On my feet at least 8 of my 9 hour shift so it was beginning to be a struggle. Wore compression knee high socks, a belly band, and a support belt almost every day to keep blood flowing and take strain off my back. I would do whatever you feel comfortable with! I didn’t want to take a week off beforehand for the same financial reasons but I also have to put my needs as a priority cause we are about to endure a marathon! I’ve been resting, eating, and keeping hydrated much better and I’ve only been off for two days so far. Finishing up any last minute projects before Little Man makes his appearance.

I’d go in. You never know if your going to go long and my guess is that you will need the recovery time more. But it suck! 😖

If it was me.... I’d work until I was physically incapable because I’d like to use all of my time for when my baby is here. But,
Your health is important and if you’re too tired, you should take the time off! Listen to your body.
