Moving in?

So how long should you wait to move in with your significant other, especially when being home is such a stressor?

Ok girls, I need your opinion. My family drives me absolutely nuts. Helping out around the house and picking up the slack from my siblings lack of chore enthusiasm has turned into an expectation that I will and should be pulling more weight than any one else. They infringe on my privacy wayyy too much, like waking me up on my days off at 6am and asking me really personal questions about my relationship and my boyfriends finances and then judging both of us. Double standards for my brother and I are too commonly enacted and include things like me always having to be accountable for where I am and being shamed if I want to spend time with my boyfriend. On top of this they shame and guilt me in to “abandoning” the family by spending time with my boyfriend and not being there to “help out”. And yes, I have talked to them about it. They say I’m over reacting, I’m being dramatic and they are “not doing anything wrong”. They are too much and I neeeeeeeed some space!

My family has told me my whole life I should not and will not move in with someone until I marry them. Hello twenty first century, and hello to my boyfriend, my rock and my strength.

So, this won’t be easy obviously. But my boyfriend and I both have really good stable jobs, we both have an education, and we have our finances established. My boyfriend is buying a house near by and is begging me to move in with him. We’ve been dating for a year and two months and I really would love to take him up on the offer. We have expenses and everything mapped out and back up plans in place.

So how long should you wait to move in with your significant other, especially when being home is such a stressor?
