HELP! I invited him for dinner!

I'm not sure what I was thinking. I live in a dorm and share the kitchen with the whole hallway!

My boyfriend comes to visit me next Saturday and I have just send him a message where I invited him to either cook our dinner together (even though I share the kitchen with others) or to come when I have the dinner ready. If he decides to take the first option, we can figure something out together, but if he chooses the second option, I don't know what to cook!

I like to cook, but I've never cooked a romantic dinner for someone. I also haven't realized that I'm quite limited by my budget, so I can't afford to buy a lot of ingredients (though I have quite a nice collection of spices)

What is a good recipe, which is simple, yet impressive and doesn't require many ingredients?

It also should be something date-friendly, since he's expected to spend the night...
