Did any of you go through your mom in law not liking you ??? Describe below why and how you got through it !!

She hated me at first. She didn't like that I was a bit older, and thought I was a big heart breaker because I had broken up with her son before in high school. One time he got in HUGE trouble for sneaking out of his dad's house to see me so we could literally play worship music in an empty parking lot; his step dad tracked his phone and chased after us until I lost him and brought him back to his dad's. It was a big ordeal. His mom sent me the longest Facebook message saying it was the last straw and I would not be seeing or talking to her son ever again. Fortunately for me, she didn't mention it to her son, in which two weeks later he texted me. I forwarded the message to him, he talked to his mom and she wanted me to call her. She and I talked for about an hour and cleared the air. I remember her saying "if you married my son I would bless the marriage" I laughed at disbelief. We got married 1 year later. 11 years of friendship, 1 year of dating, 3 years of marriage later and here we are. Open communication is KEY.

Well she liked me she just was jealous, I'm dating a guy he is the youngest and she didn't like that he was closer to me then her but we are all good now after a whole lot of shit

mine was totally crazy. before him and I got together his mom and I were the best of friends got stoned together hung out chopped did everything talked for hours on end, then after him and I got together she no longer like me and became friends with his ex which she did not like while they were together.

How I see it is this:
Most in laws, especially mothers don’t like their child’s partner. Usually it’s because they feel like they’re being replaced by the partner, as if they’re no longer needed by their son or daughter. To them it’s shitty because you’re married to their baby, and they’ll always be the parents baby regardless of how old they get.
