IUD and bleeding

I had my Marina put in 4th Dec and had very light bleeding. then suddenly I had a full blown period for 10 days. Then light pink discharge for 8days and now my period is back again and it's day 9 again with no signs of slowing down. Before the IUD insertion I had a "7day" period where I only bled for 3 days in the middle. I thought it was supposed to slow down ur period. What the hell? Anyone else go through this or have any advice? Help a sista out😭
