Ovulation confusion. No CM? When to take OPK?

I’m on day 14 of my cycle. Day of my last period was December 28-1st Jan. Had no cervical mucus at all this cycle, seems dryer than usual. All my apps are saying this week has been my fertile window and apparently today is my ovulation day but I’ve taken 5 opk’s and have all come back negative? Boobs have been quite sore so maybe ovulation is on it’s way? Don’t want to keep wasting ovulation tests!! When’s the best time to take them?

I just do an internal exam.  I check my cervical state and my CM at the same time.

When did you start taking the OPKs?
I caught my positive by testing around CD 12 and got the positive on CD 14. I was expecting it on CD 20. The app said i would be ovulating CD 20 so I wouldn’t solely reply on the app
Maybe you missed your positive or you’ll get it later. Keep testing!

I normally take them 6 days from the 1st day of my period depending on the length of my cycle. I also track my CM. The best method to actually see if you're ovulating is tracking your BBT. I'm going to do this as well.
