Penile adhesion

I'm freaking out. We were never told we needed to pull back our son's skin around his circumcised penis everyday to avoid reattachment after it originally healed. Now the skin is almost completely reattached. It's called a penile adhesion and will most likely need surgery to correct. He has an appointment in an hour. I just wanted to know if any other boy moms are dealing with this?? Why didn't anyone tell me..I feel so stupid!!! I can't stop crying.

Update:

The RN on duty was able to pull it down more and prescribed antibiotic ointment to make sure it doesn't get infected. His 4 month appt if next week so his actual pediatrician will be able to check it out. I wish hospital staff and peds would be a little more clear when it comes to this. I can't imagine how many poor boys suffer because of it. 😢
