Hit & Run

UGHHH. So this guy hit my car while I was sitting in it waiting for work in a parking lot about a month ago and just sped off! I called the police but I guess she never wrote up a report; she just forwarded me his info to file a claim because I was able to catch his license plate. But his insurance denied my claim and now I'm stuck. This is soo frustrating. I'm just a college student and I feel like they took advantage of the fact that I literally know nothing about this stuff.
