NC school counselors please respond!

I just got into grad school for school counseling and I’m so excited! Im a teacher now. Someone said to me, you know counselors don’t get paid more than teachers right?

I just shrugged it off but got home to research and I think they are right?! I can’t find anything specific on the salary schedule about school counselors so do they just fall under the certified teacher salary?

Thank you for your help. I have a little baby and don’t want to spend all of this money on a degree that I won’t get compensated for 😵
