Career options??

I’m 19 and currently in my second year of college although I’m a semester behind because of nontransferable units. Like most people I’m super lost when it comes to picking a career. It’s a big decision and I know you don’t have to choose right away but I don’t want to waste money and time too much. I’m a planner and like to know things in advance. I’m stuck between a few careers. (This is probably going to be longer than I thought)

School counseling:

I had a counselor in high school that helped me work through lots of shitty things I went through for my sophomore-senior year. I’m that kind of friend that loves to listen and be there for you. Not to brag but I think I’m at a more mature mindset than other people my age so I can give really good advice that’s helpful and makes people look at things differently (from what I’ve been told.)

Zoology/Vet:

Initially I wanted to become a veterinarian but once I saw the competitiveness I freaked out. Plus it takes so long. I love taking care of animals and learning about them (I work at a pet store) because they are more intelligent than we think.

RN/Nursing:

I love taking care of anyone or anything. It’s really rewarding and I love being social at work. I know it’s long hours and hard school work but as long as I can make some kind of impact and help, that’s all I want. Pregnancy fascinated me too and I’ve been thinking of being a labor and delivery nurse or something in that field.

In general I want something that is meaningful. I like being one on one or hands on with people. Any advice is welcome and sorry for the long post 😅
