Eye surgery??

Question

So I have decided that I might be ready for Lasik eye surgery. I have pretty bad eyesight currently. My prescription runs -7.50 and it’s very hard to see even with my glasses on so I wear contacts most of the time. It’s so frustrating and worrisome when I can’t see anything and I have a consultation coming up on the 1st. I really want to correct my vision but if I am able to have the procedure done I’m very anxious about complications and pain, even if the chances are slim. I also want to be sure that if I do this it’s worth it. 
So I was wondering if anyone has had the procedure and if so was it worth the money and time?

My vision is so bad. Like -10.00. I would love to have lasik but the part where they peel back the cornea scares the living shit out of me. I’m already too scared to have normal vision screenings. 😖

How old are you? And have you talked to your optometrist about options for Lasik? I’m 25 and my vision is -10 and -9.50 and they keep telling me to try Lasik or lens implants when I’m closer to 30 cause my vision just keeps getting worse. Haha I’m literally a blind bat

I had Lasik done August of 2015. BEST. DECISION. EVER. so worth the money. The entire procedure took about 10 minutes...longest part was getting my head in the right position. Probably about 2 minutes per eyes. The dr puts numbing drops in your eyes and I was given Xanax to rake beforehand to calm to nerves. After care was a pain due to all the eye drops and the frequency you have to use them. It’s not a forever fix as your body/eyes are always changing. My friend went 10 yrs after his procedure before he needed glasses. Also my cousin had the procedure done about 15 years ago and her eye sight hasn’t changed - so it depends on the person.

Oh I curious about this too, I would love to have it done. I had heard though that it will speed up the the natural deterioration of your eyes sight, have any of you heard this? And if you don’t mind my asking about what was the cost of the surgery for those who have had it, or have gone as far as to get the process started? Thank you for any input ☺️

I had it 7 or so years ago, and although I don’t regret getting it done, I wish I had done so when my vision had been more stable. I started wearing glasses again maybe 3 years ago, started off using it for night time driving and now it’s full time glasses. But at least my eyesight is better now than it would be if hadn’t gotten LASIK done.
But when I did have it done, it was like 😳 the world seemed so much more beautiful with more than clear vision! The procedure was quick, painless, recovery wasn’t too bad. Your eyes may become more dry, but that’s what eye drops are for. But you have so much freedom. It was an awesome feeling. 
With that being said, make sure your prescription hasn’t changed for at least a couple of years to make it worth it.
