Am I overthinking??

So this guy that I’m talking, his phone is old and it finally stopped working. According to him it does not charge anymore. So he decided to take his sister up on it and get her old phone when she upgrades. I however have a hard time believing it because how is he going to be with out a phone. And be on social media. No only that but where is he going to be reached at. Needless to say he was out with his dad earlier today. His dad does not live with him so I’m guessing he had to call his son in order to meet up. So idk if I’m overthinking because he has lied before or not.
