UPDATE to low HCG but perfect ultrasound

Samantha

On Friday I wrote a post about how I was in the ER with some spotting. They gave me a ultrasound and said the baby looked perfect at 7 weeks (right where I should be) with a beautiful heart rate of 140. I was so relieved. But then they told me my HCG was lower at 4500 and that's about 4/5 weeks. He informed me the ultrasound is more important but I needed to follow up.

So over the weekend I stressed about it and thought I was going to have my third miscarriage Bc of how a second doctor made me feel.

Today I called my midwife to tell her about the ER and their findings on Friday. Her first words were 'were these just regular ER doctors or ONGYN?' I said regular ER doctors. She said 'with all due respect, they are doctors but they don't know anything' lol she then told me that after you see a strong heart beat and a good measuring baby on the ultrasound the HCG levels don't matter as much anymore. Just what you're seeing on the screen. She said most doctors won't worry after that point. What's on the ultrasound is most important Bc HCG can be different for everyone and the range is extremely wide. Spotting is normal at this time. She told me that if she has a women that has a HCG over 1,000 and a good ultrasound she doesn't look back into the numbers all at n she's been doing this 30 years. She said she would give me a ultrasound earlier than 9 weeks (next Friday) but in reality If something is going to happen it's going to happen either way. Which is so true and I'm a realist. I hope this helps ease anyone's mind that is worried about HCG. It doesn't always mean anything... I'm praying for a healthy 9 months ♥️♥️♥️
