Break up: Possibility of getting back together?

So my Ex-boyfriend broke up with me on Sunday. He told me that I was the best girl he ever dated, this was he best relationship he has ever been in but he has to much going on in his life to be in a relationship. I didn’t say much during the breakup. He kept kissing me on the forehead and hugging me the entire time. I was just shocked it came out of no where. A few hours after I sent him this text and this was his response. Do you guys think I have a chance of getting him back. I’m going to start the 30 day not contact rule and go from there. But if he still has feelings for me and he relationship was great, then do you think there is a chance we can get back together.

Getting back with an ex happens all the time, but it’s very unlikely that it’ll work out. I spent an entire year being ping ponged by an ex that was unsure of committing. Halfway through that year I just realized that it wasn’t going to work and allowed him to continue the cycle until he seemed ready to let go and it was so a terrible decision because he had a really hard time sticking to his own guns.

The no contact thing will legit be the best thing you’ll ever do for the two of you. My ex told me that he wanted to take a break coz we had been fighting for such a long time that it got ugly. So I went ahead and stopped talking to him for two whole months. But I didn’t block him on any social media. He still watched my Snapchat stories and checked out my instagram every once in a while. I had to show him that my life was great even if I didn’t have him at that moment and he eventually came back asking if we should get back together and all coz he felt like he made a mistake. So, if you think taking a break will show you where you two stand then go ahead and do so. Don’t text him or call him or anything. It will hurt you but it will all be fine I promise.

Don’t waste your time. Men don’t leave the women they really want to be with no matter what’s going on. We all need to learn and accept that just because something was good doesn’t mean it’s meant to be. This is just going to get dragged out, more of your life will be wasted and you’ll be absolutely devastated the longer you extend an inevitable ending. TRUST ME
