insensitive question from new PCP
We have been ttc our 1st since dec. 2016. i was 37 when we started, am now 38. I had chemical pregnancies in June and Nov. Two weeks after 2nd chemical we conceived again. I see an RE but have conceived all these naturally so far. Sadly I miscarried last week after my pregnancy was discovered nonviable at 7.5 weeks. I just got a new insurance plan that requires me to get a primary care provider (PCP), which I didn't have before. I had my 1st appointment with my new PCP 2 days after I miscarried. She asked how I was doing after I explained what had happened and summarized my experience working with my RE so far. I thought that was nice of her to immediately show that concern. But then just a ater, she bluntly blurted out, "Why did you wait so long to TTC?" I was flabbergasted she would ask me such a thing, particularly in the metro area where I live (DC) because older moms are commonplace here. She also very decidedly advised me that her opinion is that I should run right back to my RE immediately to start IVF ASAP. um right
