IUD opinions?

Question

I've been thinking about getting the IUD as my form of birth control, but I don't know anyone that has had it to get opinions on it. What are your opinions on it?

I had the copper one paraguard inserted on February of last year went to the 4 weeks check up on March turns out I got pregnant with the IUD on June in place am 8 1/2 months pregnant , I was taking the bird control pill and never got pregnant

The IUD and its friends are a great idea for birth control you may feel uncomfortable and dizzy the first few minutes. I have experience spotting after sex and my partner has been scratched, but my OB says it's ok everything has its drawbacks lucky for us its just minor things and it can be removed when ever you choose.

I had Mirena inserted 5 years ago. It hurt surprisingly bad going through my cervix. Immediately I got REALLY bad period cramps. 
Lasted for about 3 hours. 
Other than that, Mirena was AMAZING! I never once had a period on it! WE decided to try to conceive so I had Mirena removed on December 6 and got pregnant ONE WEEK LATER! Yay!!! 
After I had my daughter 4 months ago I had the Mirena put back in and it didn’t hurt nearly as bad this time. (Had it put in 6 weeks PP) 
Virtually no pain at all actually. I guess because my cervix had recently been dilated it was no problem! I have yet to have a period on it this go around as well! Woohoo!

I liked it. Having it inserted was uncomfortable, but felt totally fine after that.

I had the mirena for 3 years before I took out to get pregnant and now I’m 3m pp and I got it put back in. My first time getting it it was difficult to put in because the cervix is not very flexible if you’ve never been pregnant. I had to try 3 times. But after pregnancy it was super quick and painless! You can have some spotting and cramping after insertion but that goes away soon after. Your period may be heavier the first few months but it almost always lightens and up and may even go away. My period went away after a year or so. I would just get super light spotting afterwards.
