Trying after miscarriage

Hi everybody. Unfortunately I miscarried last week. I was 7 weeks along. I am looking for anyone who has had experience TTC after a miscarriage. My dr said to wait until I get my period but I’ve read that’s usually just so you can know the date of conception and how far along you are. I’ve read about women getting pregnant right after, before getting their period again.
