When did you start getting sweeps??

I am 36 weeks today, going to OB tomorrow and then going to start going every week. Just curious when did y'all start to get your membranes swept? thanks :)

I’m opting against it. Sweeping the membrane can introduce bacteria and if labor isn’t started soon thereafter could lead to infection. It’s not a guaranteed labor starter either. Several women here have had it done multiple times with no success. Plus starting it at 36w...that’s still considered preterm so your baby may need to be placed in NICU for assistance/surveillance. Obviously you’ve discussed it with your ob and you’re going to do what you want, it’s just not for me. Congrats on your little one!

I had it done at 38, at 40 I said helllll no! It hurt like a bitch and it made me have cramps and then nothing. Went into labor late 40+6 she was born on the morning of 41. I know it sucks to hear-but baby comes when baby is ready. I will never have it done again.

Had it done at 41 weeks when I was already at 4cm thinking I had a sore back. Everything went down hill from there. Wish I just let my body continue doing its thing without someone intervening

was offered at 37 but I waited til 38 and then had 3 until I went into labor at 39+4
