How long is insulin good for ?

I just realized I've been using the same lil jar for 30 days I keep it in the frig. Is it still good ? I use the cloudy one for bed time only.

Any unopened insulin should be refrigerated and then it's expiration is per the one listed on the box. Insulin left out is generally only good for 28 days once opened. The package insert will tell you what the manufacturer recommends on shelf life after opening. However any cloudy insulin should probably not be used as it's potentially lost some of it's effectiveness per the ADA. You should probably check with the pharmacy to see if insurance will let you fill it or if it's too soon to be filled. You may want to tell them you did not refridgerate the vials until 2 weeks after you received it and see what they say. Good luck!

its good until the expiration date on the box/bottle. it only has to be thrown out if you keep it out of the fridge for 30 days.
