Did you fail your glucose test?

I failed me 1 hour glucose test and now have to go to the 3 hour. This is really bothering me because I have a super healthy diet. I am honestly worried about getting a misdiagnosis of gestational diabetes because I don't ever have that much sugar in my body at one time and they are basically overloaded me with there nasty sugar drink. Also why do they use artificial colors when they are directly linked to birth defects!?! Just curious about the likelihood of passing my 3 hour after failing my 1 hour!

Developing gestational diabetes is genetic based, not diet based. If you are predisposed to it, you’re going to have to no matter what your diet is like. That’s what my OB told me because I was nervous since I have eaten a lot of carbohydrates during this pregnancy. I also failed the one hour, but I passed the three hour. You probably will too. It’s very common to fail the one hour and pass the three.

The drink was always clear for me. 
I learned that the glucose test doesn’t have anything to do with how much sugar you put in your body, but how your body processes sugar when you DO put it in your body (even things like pasta and bread are full of sugar). It can happen to anyone...no matter size or weight. My best friend from high school is 110 lbs soaking wet and she evened up having gestational diabetes.   
I failed the first test because it was sprung on me after I had literally just stuffed a high sugar breakfast bar down my throat. But passed the 3 hour with flying colors!

Having GD has nothing to do with your diet and you want to know if you actually have it because it could be really dangerous for the baby if it isn’t treated properly. The reason it only effects you while pregnant is because it’s caused by genetics and the way your baby and uterus put pressure on your pancreas. I know the 3 hour test is a pain the ass, I just took mine a few weeks ago and was happy to pass. Hopefully you will too!

It has absolutely nothing to do with your diet at all. Complete myth only overweight people get GD. They can be at higher risk, but it’s about how your body processes sugars not what you put into your body on a regular basis. If that was true, everyone would be able to control it by diet but alas, that is not a thing. 
Everytime I have done it I have been given the clear one. 
You may pass the 3 hour test, but you also may not. It’s better to be safe than be sorry.

I failed my 1 hour and they sent me to an endocrinologist because my number was so high.

I took 3 hr. You have to do be high on at least 2 of the blood samples to have gestational diabetes according to my doctor. I only had 1 a little high.

I BARELY failed according to my OB but they still wanted me to go to a diabetes specialist once a week and put me on medication and check my blood sugar 3 times a day, but I just ate healthier because I didn’t want to take the medicine and they were ok with it because I made sure my blood sugar was under whatever the number required was..(I forgot that the number was) I hope this helps
