Is there another ultrasound after anatomy scan?

I’m 30 weeks and I have my doctor appointments booked out but my doc hasn’t mentioned another ultrasound. Do they do another ultrasound to see how big he is or how he’s doing before birth??

My doctor won't be doing another one until 36 weeks. And that's basically just to see how baby is positioned.

No usually, unless something is wrong. They did a third one with my second child because they thought she was getting too big to have naturally. Turned out that I️ just had some extra fluid and she was fine and I’d normal weight.

I’ve had too many to count at this point. I think I’m going on 9 or somewhere close to that. I have growth scans every 4 weeks though. I should only have a couple more left.

i had one at 7 weeks, 18 weeks, and my dr said i'll have one at 36 weeks. i am considered high risk because of my age, but not high enough to have ultrasounds every week.

Usually only if there is a concern or you are high risk. My previous pregnancies I never had one after the anatomy scan. This time I am high risk and I have weekly ultrasounds until birth since 28 weeks. I also had one at 24 weeks and 22 weeks.

Every doctor is different and it depends on insurance. My OB does an ultrasound at every appointment. Of course I have to pay $650 because insurance only covers so much.

I don’t think it’s usually routine for them to do another ultrasound, at least through my insurance. However, with both my pregnancies they did order another one (growth scan) because I was measuring too big. If you are wanting another one definitely speak to your dr and raise any concerns you have about the size, of your baby is head down, etc. and maybe they will put one through for you!
