Should education be free?

I'm making my way through college with student loans that rack up to over $35k per semester that go towards my room and tuition. My question is, should these things come without a price?

Even though I’m still going to college I believe it is a scam. You literally have to pay for everything! You have to pay to apply and some colleges even charge you if you don’t get accepted. Most colleges make you live on campus your first year and that’s expensive by itself, the meal plans are crazy. Each class is its own price and so are all the books you will need. Not to mention housing around college campuses are marked up, the supplies you need for college is also expensive, calculators, computers, some equipment you need for college they provide with a charge. I don’t understand how they think you can pay it off after you’ve done your years, it’s just crazy!

I believe that knowledge should be free but to be able to provide that knowledge via internet, books, buildings, teachers, etc., it would cost at least a bit of money. I also believe that the kind of money education requires in today’s time is definitely not going into education. If it did the economy itself should have boosted a little bit. But on back on to this specific question. I do not believe that knowledge is something we should have to pay for but until we find a genius who knows everything and is willing to spend all of their time for everyone else for free, we gon’ have to pay for it lol

Also yes you should pay for the living expenses but I feel like they definitely over price it way too much. As I said before tho, most of the money is profit for the higher-ups in the system. Which keeps everyone in different classes. Meaning if the higher up people are just making profit while everyone else is paying it then nothing will ever change. I feel like I could talk about this all day lol
