LONG POST! But I’d appreciate the read and maybe some advice...

This is going to be a long post, so bare with me please.. I’m genuinely looking for advice/reassurance

(No offense, but this post doesn’t apply to women who got their periods while breastfeeding. But your advice is still helpful and will be appreciated)

I’m currently EBF and haven’t had my first postpartum period.. My son is 9 months old and nurses 4-6 times a day, sometimes more..

•Not so little backstory•

I was put on birth control at 15, due to a heavy menstruation. I was on the pills starting out. At first I was consistent with the pills, until I turned 17, and I started going out more often and constantly forgetting.🤷🏻‍♀️ My mom ended up putting me on the birth control patch because I became sexually active and she didn’t want to take any chances. Well, my husband (boyfriend at the time) and I moved to Florida when I turned 18 (I was on the patch for about 6-8 months at this point) I continued getting my birth control until at one point, when I wasn’t able to qualify for health insurance, and BC was too much to fit into the budget. 2 months go by and I’ve developed a regular period without the BC. Well, my mom, pressures me (from two states away) to get on BC again. I get back on birth control again, and eventually discontinue it in March 2016, at the age of 19 because my husband and I were ready for a child. After stopping the patch, I had my withdrawal period in April of 2016, and didn’t have one whatsoever. We didn’t let this discourage us, and we kept trying. I ended up finding out I was pregnant July 2016! (Yes, I got pregnant without having a period!) I don’t know if I would have ended up having a regular cycle/period if I hadn’t gotten pregnant since I obviously ovulated. I would also like to add that it took about 4 months for me to get pregnant and I didn’t have a period for the entirety of that 4 months, except for that one withdrawal period in April.

Here’s where this post is going...

How hard was it for you to get pregnant after you stopped breastfeeding?? How long did it take for you to get your period after you stopped breastfeeding? (If you didn’t get it while breastfeeding) I’m so scared my body won’t regulate itself once I stop.. I’m scared it’ll do what it was doing before I got pregnant. My biggest fear is that my period will never come back and regulate, and I won’t be able to conceive/have anymore children naturally...
