Shoould i cut my hair? (Read below please)

I love my hair and it’s taken me four years to grow it to the length it’s at now but i recently started liking shorter hair. I’m not sure if I’m ready to cut it all off and I’m kind of nervous about how it will look. My boyfriend says he likes my hair longer but I think it might look nice if I cut it. I’m nervous about how it will look when I wear it natural because I naturally have very kinky and curly hair that gets significantly shorter when I wear it natural although I usually straighten it for school. Let me know what you think! I want to cut it to around shoulder length. (My hair is longer now than it was in the picture attached)
