Do you take your tampon out and then pee or pee first then take your tampon out?

Someone told me that you’re supposed to take it out first and then pee because the tampon sucks up the pee and it gets in the vaginal canal and could possibly start an infection. I’ve never heard of this

if the tampon is properly inserted, it shouldn't soak up any urine. Different holes, different parts of the genitals etc..
I do however hold the string out of the way because who wants a soggy string in their underwear?

You pee through your urethra and tampons are in the upper part of your vagina. Yes it's the same area but different holes.
