My parents are still making all of my decisions

I am 18 and it seems like everytime i want to do something I don't have a say in it. It is always what they want. I know that they don't want me to make mistakes but how I am supposed to learn from my mistakes if I can't make them. Some of my friends tell me that I should just tell them what I'm doing and then proceed to tell them that they can either support me or get over it but im worried if I do that they will kick me out. My parents tell me that I can always talk to them but they have always been super strict and always jump to saying no when I try to talk to them. I am already taking classes in college and im not trying to do anything stupid it's simple things that they won't let me do. Does anyone have any advice on what to do?
