4 month and walking???!

hi dear parents. so I have 4 month baby on 2 February he will be 5. we trying to practice sit up but he hates it. he pushes his legs and trying to stand and walk. he loves being on his foot and walk ( we r holding h for sure) u don't think it's too early to practice standing and walking?

Some babies like to be on their feet and up right. He doesn’t really know what walking is just yet and just enjoys the sensation. If you can afford it you might want to get one of the saucers where the baby can stand and jump and play upright. Dont give up on ground time too though. Encouraging crawling is a good way to develop other skills and muscles. But my son was the same and most of the time if I was holding him on the couch he was standing and jumping on my legs and this started super early!

My LO was standing since he was 3 months old. He hated being on his belly. And just wanted to be up. He’s now 8 months and still doesn’t crawl because he hates it but he loves to stand and walk. He still a little too unstable on his own but he’s close. If your LO wants to stand up and be held like that there’s no harm there but don’t force him to learn to walk and stand just yet.

It’s common at that age. All babies try to “stand.” It’s the stepping reflex and it’s present at birth. There isn’t a way to tell now when your baby will walk. It has so much more to do than the strength of he legs. He child needs to have core strength, balance, and motivation. My son loved standing an “practicing to walk” but he didn’t actually walk independently until he was 12-13 months. There are two other boys in his day care class that are born the same week as him. The one that hit all his motor skills first such as crawling and standing was actually the last to walk at 15 months. The one that was the last to crawl and hit motor skills, was the first to walk at 11 months.

It’s called the stepping reflex. They lose it at around 4-6 months then they learn it again when it’s time to walk. 
For your baby, look at the skip hop activity center. My daughter who was the same loved it at that age and beyond.

That’s very common mama, it’s the instinct to lock up their legs when they are standing. At 4 months they lack the muscle tone, but it’s still fun to play this way with them. A bouncer is a fun toy for this.

Depends on the baby!! My brother walked at 6 months!! It was nuts! He could walk right into the cabinets at my grandmothers and he could climb out of his crib at 6 months too. Some babies just walk early. My daughter hated sitting up and would crawl over the things and pull up to standing at 6 and 7 months. Every baby is different there really is no right or wrong for milestones!
